SUCCESS STORY WITH NATBIO NATOS C ® AS A MODULATOR OF THE INTESTINAL FLORA AND APPETITE STIMULANT IN PIGS.
Introduction
NATBIO NATOS C ® is a water-soluble energy supplement to be supplied to piglets in their lactation and pre-weaning stages. It helps to hydrate and strengthen the gastrointestinal tract against the attack of pathogenic microorganisms, helps to counteract the effects of heat stress, transport and handling. It contains carbohydrates that nourish and provide energy with progressive release and greater bioavailability.

The test was carried out on a COMMERCIAL FARM, located in the vicinity of VEREDA LA VERDE – CORRIGEMIENTO DE SAN ANTONIO DE PRADO – MEDELLÍN. This commercial farm has breeding facilities and houses an approximate population of 150 females in gestation, full cycle and in a NATURAL environment.

It helps to hydrate and strengthen the gastrointestinal tract against the attack of pathogenic microorganisms, helps to counteract the effects of heat stress, transport and handling. It contains carbohydrates that nourish and provide energy with progressive release and greater bioavailability.
Location
The test was carried out on a COMMERCIAL FARM, located in the vicinity of VEREDA LA VERDE – CORRIGEMIENTO DE SAN ANTONIO DE PRADO – MEDELLÍN. This commercial farm has breeding facilities and houses an approximate population of 150 females in gestation, full cycle and in a NATURAL environment.
NATBIO NATOS C ® in the porridge that is supplied during the first week of Precebo. The amount to be supplied is 45 ml per kilo of porridge (dry product). 1 kilo of porridge (milk replacer) + 2 kilos of water + 45 ml of NATBIO NATOS C ®. This amount is what should be supplied for every 15 piglets. The evaluation was carried out in 13 batches of pre-weaning pigs, during the months of September, October, November 2017.
The duration of the Precebos stage is 6 weeks – 42 days. With weaning of 21 days on average.
Total of 927 piglets.
Average cost of product NATBIO NATOS C ®, per piglet is $363 pesos.
The following parameters were measured:
- Dry feed consumption of Pre-starter, during the first week. The average daily consumption obtained with the piglets that consumed NATBIO NATOS C ® was 182 grams/pig/day vs 174 grams/pig/day with the farm’s history.
- Weight gains at the end of the Precebo stage. The average daily weight gain obtained with the piglets that consumed NATBIO NATOS C ® was 471 grams/pig/day vs 444 grams/pig/day with the farm’s history. A difference in favor of 27 grams per day, that is, at the end of the cycle there was a gain of 1134 grams per pig.
- Conversions at the end of the Precebo stage. The conversion obtained with the piglets that consumed NATBIO NATOS C ® was 1.21 vs 1.33 with the farm’s history.
- Cost per kilo at the end of the Precebos stage. The cost obtained per kilo of pig in the piglets that consumed NATBIO NATOS C ® was $2775 vs $2880 with the farm’s history.
*In this cost, only the value of the milk replacer consumed, Pre-starter and Starter Feed and Consumption of NATBIO NATOS C ® per batch of pigs is taken.
For this evaluation that was done on the COMMERCIAL FARM we can conclude the following benefits of using NATBIO NATOS C ® during the first 14 days of the Precebos stage:
- An improvement in feed consumption of 8 grams per pig (4.50% more consumption) in the first week of life of Precebos, with the use of NATBIO NATOS CERDOS.
- An improvement in Daily Weight Gain (6.08% more weight), with the use of NATBIO NATOS C ®.
- A difference of 0.12 (9.02% less conversion), that is, the piglets consumed 120 grams less feed to gain the same kilo of weight, with the use of NATBIO NATOS C ®.
- A difference in favor of $105 per kilo of pig produced, with the use of NATBIO NATOS C ®.
Currently the COMMERCIAL FARM, continues with the use of the PRODUCT NATBIO NATOS C ® during the first two weeks of Precebos.
