With more than 14 years in the market developing innovative and effective products to contribute
to human well-being, through solutions for the livestock industry, Promitec continues on the
path of research to improve the productivity and profitability of its customers, as well as the
quality of life of the final consumers.

Its Natbio Intestinal Integrity and Natbio Moments of Value product lines have positioned themselves
as great allies for this industry that is an essential part of the food chain.
“We develop natural functional additives, which are added to the concentrated feed
of poultry and pigs with the aim that they are beneficial for health, body development, weight results
and conversion of these animals, providing improvements in the quality of the meat” explains
Álvaro José Uribe Serrano, manager of Promitec.

The inclusion of phytobiotics in its production lines has been fundamental to promote the
productive performance of animals and improve the quality of products derived from
them. It should be noted that phytobiotics are totally natural products that are derived from
plants, they can be flours, extracts and essential oils, among others. “They contribute to a better
production, so that the behavior of the animal’s intestine is more effective and that
meat is produced at a lower cost. In addition, they contribute to the production of phytochemicals that generate
antioxidants, these reach the final consumer through the protein they consume, which
they find of better quality and flavor. It is worth noting that these antioxidants contribute to improving
the response of our cells to oxidative stress”, highlights the Manager.

A large part of Promitec’s products are positioned in the livestock additive markets
of the poultry and pig sectors. In addition, they are strengthening their penetration in the
fish sector.

Talent and Quality

Promitec has a work team of 42 collaborators, of which a group is in charge
of the different processes of research, innovation and product development. This group of
research professionals works in alliance with universities such as the Industrial University
of Santander, UIS; National University of Colombia (Bogotá and Medellín); University of Arkansas,
United States; Prince Edward University, Canada; and the Research Center of the University
Central of Argentina.

Thanks to the research work, Promitec has managed to be a pioneer in biotechnological developments
both for the livestock and human sectors. Hence, last year it launched
Viroff, a disinfectant line, which has excellent efficacy against viruses such as
Gumboro of birds and SarsCov2 of humans, as ratified by studies carried out at the
Prince Edward University in Canada and the University of Antioquia in Medellín.

“Our projection is to continue researching, innovating and developing products that generate
quality of life and human well-being. Last year was quite productive in research and
we are leaders in the implementation of programs to remove antibiotics in the production of poultry
and pigs. We want to expand the company’s sales volume in the international market; today
we reach countries such as the Dominican Republic, Panama and Guatemala”, highlights Álvaro José
Uribe Serrano.
