On March 14, 2018, a tour was held in the city of Alajuela, Costa Rica, focused on maximizing the genetic potential of the Ross broiler chicken and supporting the health and well-being of these birds.

Different specialists were invited to this event, highlighting the intervention of Dr. Álvaro José Uribe Serrano, Manager of the company Promitec Santander S.A.S, who participated as an international consultant and shared all his knowledge about “the characteristics and opportunities of essential oils”.

Dr. Álvaro Uribe’s intervention highlighted the great potential of essential oils as intestinal modulators and their great advantage in multiplying antioxidant, antiparasitic, and immunomodulatory functions; therefore, it is vitally important to know their correct characterization and true functionality, which varies depending on the type of essential oil used.
